Seers, Sages, wise persons and Masters of ancient civilizations were aware of the subtle relationship between Cosmos, Stars, Sun, Planets & Moon; and existence or ‘life’ of all living beings. They had experienced the influence of these phenomena in their sensitive nervous system and body/mind, tuned or calibrated to receive, resonance with and understand the cosmic, stellar, solar, planetary and lunar energies. They named these energies spread throughout their nervous system and heart-vital force, vata, anima, life energy, Qi, Chi etc
In the Sanskrit Philosophical treatise ‘Mandukyopanishad’, Cosmos (Brahman or ever expanding entity) is described as the source and supreme ruler of every existing phenomena. Sages declared that
'Jivo Brahmaiva,
Na aparaha’
“Life is Cosmos itself – nothing else’ They realized that cosmic energy become the life energy. It is also described that the primary source of energy, (light) even for Sun and Stars is Cosmos. Hence cosmos or Brahman was worshiped by all Indian (Hindu) religious subgroups.
In the most famous manthra in Rigveda, Sun is worshiped as source of energy for, earth, heaven and sky.
"Om Bhur Bhuva Svaha
Thath Savithrur varenyam
Bhargo Deva Sya dheemahi
Dheeyo yona Prachodayath"
“We the (Master and disciples) meditate upon the divine supreme energy in the sun (whom earth, heaven and sky depends for energy) May the divine energy in the sun stimulate our intellect”.
This Rishi or sage who was seer of this manthra was aware that energy from sun is stimulating that part of the brain which is responsible for the functioning of intelligent mind(Buddhy)
‘Surya namaskar’ (Saluting the Sun) is a yogic technique adopted all over the world. In Japan and neighboring nations also Sun is widely worshiped.
In India 27 constellations of stars were considered to be the ruling factor of health and life of all beings including humans. The ancient Masters were conscious that the different frequencies of energy waves reaching from these various constellations at the time of birth of babies influence nervous system of new born babies and hence their future life and health. Astrology of Mayan, Old European and Arabian civilizations also were based on this basic understanding.
In the Latin or Roman civilization also stars were worshiped even before Jesus Christ. Easter celebration is a continuation of this ancient ritual in a modified style.
The solar radiations are reflected by planets and moon and then reach the earth. Frequency and wave length of these waves from these planets shall different because of the difference of reflecting surface (materials in the surface of different planets) These electromagnetic wave also shall have varying impact on nervous system and body/mind of beings. These planets also were worshiped for reducing the negative effect and increasing the positive effects of these energies.
Moon was worshiped by ancient civilizations because they were aware that varying cycles of moon have varying impacts on living beings.
Lord Buddha got enlightenment on a full moon day, signifying the impact of full moon on the full blossoming of the brain which is compared to the full blossoming of a Lotus.
