YOGIC NEURO PSYCHOLOGY
                The dualistic understanding of body and mind prevalent even today is totally alien to yogic science. In the Yogic literature we can see descriptions on positions of prana (vital radiations) in the nerves of different parts of body and central nervous system responsible for various states of mind.
                The Fourteen points (planes) in the body and C.N.S and corresponding mental states as described in the texts are given below. (The points from, first (pathala) to the fourteenth (sahasrara) are related to the days from new moon to full moon.
(1)          Patala:-
                        Sole of the feet. When Prana is blocked in this part, loss of consciousness occurs.
(2)          Mahathala:-
                        Sole of the feet. When Prana is blocked in this part, loss of consciousness occurs.
(3)          Rasathala:-
                        Ankel. When Prana blocks here one becomes selfish.
(4)          Thalathala:-
                        In the flesh above ankle. When Prana is blocked here, mind become unstable.
(5)          Suthala:-
                        In the knee. When Prana blocks here, envy shall be the predominant state of mind.
(6)          Vithala:-
                        In the Thigh. When Prana is blocked here anger will be the dominant state of mind.
(7)          Athala:-
                        In the waist. When prana blocks here fear or panic state will be generated.
(8)          Muladhara:-
                        In the lower part of spinal column-Filum terminale-below the genital. One will get good memory power when Prana reaches here sufficiently.
(9)          Swadhishtana:-
                        In between genital and navel. When Prana reaches here in abundant quantity one will becomes very intelligent.
(10)       Manipuraka:-
                        Above the navel. One shall get will power when prana reaches here forcefully.
(11)      Anahatha:-
                        In the heart. One will get knowledge when Prana reaches here in enough quanity.
(12)       Visuddhy:-
                        In the backside of throat. When Prana reaches here in sufficient quantity one will become philosophical and God fearing.
(13)      Ajnja:-
                        The point between eyebrows. One will get visions of heavens, which shall be more vivid than dream when prana reaches here abundantly.
(14)       Sahasrara:-
                        The brain. When Prana spreads all over the brain one will get supreme knowledge and wisdom.
                        The points from 8 to 14 are actually located in the spinal cord and brain (C.N.S) These descriptions can be considered as part of yogic-Neuro psychology.
